beading classes

bead with us

Beading classes at the Sidai Center are set outdoors in our serene garden.

Beginning with a tour of our workshop where many of our designs are produced, you will be inspired to create your own beautiful piece of jewelry, a perfect memory of Tanzania, to take home with you.

The 2 hour class is an immersive cultural experience, allowing you to learn the traditional beading techniques of the Maasai tribe while hearing about Maasai culture. We hope you will be inspired to share about your culture with our beaders too!

We offer different packages for beading classes. Sip on local chai (tea) or indulge in a cheese board and wine shared with your friends and family.

Beautiful Art and Wonderful People

"My 2 daughters and I did the 2 hour beading workshop. We had a great time making bracelets and learning more about the Masai culture, while also enjoying some lovely tea and biscuits. A great way to spend some time in Arusha, highly recommend! And the shop is lovely, all the work is exquisite!” – Paula M, Tripadvisor

Great Project and Beautiful Art

“After hearing so much about the unique jewellery a Sidai, a group of us attended a private beading workshop. We were taught how to make necklaces and bracelets by a group a talented Maasai women who took real care of us. It was wonderfully relaxing and set in a peaceful garden. After the workshop, we visited the store where we found yet more beautiful jewellery, wall hangings and other art. The story behind the project is also great, its definitely worth a visit, I know I'll be going back.” – Amy Lou, Tripadvisor
